Brushfire Dove Lizzies

 

Ingredients (makes 30 Lizzies):

 

15 cleaned Dove breasts

15 strips Bacon

½ a brick or 4 oz. Cream Cheese

8 Pickled Jalapenos

Italian Dressing

Toothpicks

Smoke Shack BBQ Sauce

Brushfire Farms Original Glaze

Meat Church Gospel

 

Process: 

 

Step 1:  Cut dove breasts off bone and cut bacon strips in half. 

 

Step 2:  Slice Jalapenos into quarter spears and remove seeds. 

 

Step 3:  Place one filet of Dove breast onto strip of Bacon.  Put small dollop of Cream Cheese and Jalapeno Spear on top.  Roll away from you, keeping the Bacon snug, and press Toothpick through.  Repeat until all Lizzies are made. 

 

Step 4:  In small mixing bowl, mix equal parts BBQ Sauce and Italian Dressing.  Place Lizzies in Tupperware container and drizzle marinade over them and refrigerate overnight. 

 

Step 5:  Light Charcoal on only one side of your Grill.  Remove Lizzies from refrigerator and season with Meat Church Gospel. 

 

Step 6:  In small mixing bowl, mix equal parts BBQ Sauce and Brushfire Farms Original Glaze. 

 

Step 7:  Cook at 400 degrees for 10 minutes with vents open and grill lid on, and as far away from the coals as possible. 

 

Step 8:  After cooking for 10 minutes, paint with Glaze mop sauce and put lid back on grill for another 5 minutes.  Mop once more before pulling with a target internal temp of 165 degrees.
